Ethics form the basis of all human activities. They are the only feature which distinguish humans from animals and are extremely important for the practice of Medicine. Pathologists often face issues which are peculiar to their specialty. They therefore need a code of their own. Health Ways laboratories have adopted the recommendations of the College of Pathologists, Pakistan regarding ethical issues in the practice of Pathology. The recommendations have been published as the Ethics for Pathologists. The Code of Ethics comprising fifteen articles is the core. It attempts to cover all aspects of the professional life of a pathologist. The conduct expected of a Pathologist in the light of these principles is given separately. The enforcement procedures are also outlined.
